Rates

I calculate my translation prices based on a rate per word which varies depending on different aspects such as language combination, subject area and file format.

A minimum price of £35 applies for translations.

About Me

I am a native English speaking translator and interpreter from the UK. I translate from German into English and Spanish into English.

I offer conference interpreting from Spanish into English and bilateral Spanish <> English interpreting for businesses or the public services.

  • Have a good grasp of the translation industry, having worked in one of the top ten language service providers.
  • Have strong experience interpreting in a range of settings, including in a legal context.
  • Am confident handling a variety of subject matters, including technical content types.
  • Use a variety of CAT tools, including Trados, Across, MemoQ and Star Transit.
  • Work into my native language (unless I am interpreting in a business meeting, for example)
  • Have strong "source" language skills from living and working abroad.
  • Understand my "source" language cultures.

Qualifications

  • BA Honours in German and Spanish (distinction in spoken Spanish and German)
  • Masters in Conference Interpreting and Translation (Merit)
  • CELTA – Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults
  • Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (English law) for the language combination Spanish/English
  • Member of the North West Translators Network
  • MemoQ Level 1 certified
